The Trees Beckon Art Print
Bring the quiet beauty of winter woods into your home with "The Trees Beckon," a hand-carved, four-color reduction linocut. Trees have long been a source of comfort and inspiration to the artist, Christy Nesja. Childhood hours spent playing in the woods and exploring wooded trails grew into a lifelong love of hiking and quiet reflection in natural spaces.
This print was inspired by a favorite trail in Stewart County Park, Dane County, Wisconsin. On a steep hillside, the trees bend and curve together, forming a kind of natural cathedral. The scene evokes a feeling of welcome, stillness, and reverence for the beauty of the woods—an atmosphere captured in "The Trees Beckon."
The work was selected as the January 2025 image for the Dane Arts calendar, published by the Dane County Cultural Affairs Commission.
